Scottish Borders Council Culture Strategy: In Conversation
Jointly presented by the Melrose Music Festival and the Hugo Burge Foundation, this special event invites you to take part in a conversation about the future of culture in the Scottish Borders.
Council leaders, including Councillor Carol Hamilton, will set out the vision behind Scottish Borders Council’s forthcoming Culture Strategy. The discussion will be chaired by Melrose Music Festival Chair Pip Blackledge and will include an audience Q&A.
A small panel will reflect on the importance of the creative and performing arts in community life, featuring contributions from Festival Artistic Director Robert Marshall and Dr James Fox, Creative Director of the Hugo Burge Foundation.
Why come along?
This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from decision-makers and share your thoughts on the future of arts and culture in the region. Whether you're a performer, a creative professional, or simply someone who values local arts and culture, your voice matters.
The evening offers a space to learn more about how cultural priorities are being shaped, ask questions, and make sure the needs and experiences of your community are heard. It’s also a chance to connect with others who care about the creative life of the Borders.
All are welcome to attend and contribute to this important conversation.
